| How We Work
| At Balaram, we rigorously follow a seven-stage SEP (Software Engineering Process): |
| Stage 1: Consultation and Requirements Gathering |
| From the start, we take a consultative approach to round out your understanding of what is possible and how well-designed software technology can improve your bottom line. |
| We then collaborate closely with you to understand your business needs, both strategic and tactical, so that we can design and build a system tailored to your needs. Ours is a user-driven, bottom-up approach to software development. |
| With our broad-based experience, we can often provide valuable insight at this stage of the process. We have staff that are adept at Business Systems Analysis and can work with all of the vested business owners to get buy-in and capture the business needs in the form of a requirements document. This, in our minds, is the most important stage of the process. |
| Stage 2: Project Planning |
| The next stage involves creating a project plan detailing specific deliverables, timelines, milestones, dependencies, costs and resources. This plan encompasses the entire life cycle of the project, from development, prototyping, beta testing through deployment, and support. |
| Stage 3: Prototyping |
| Building prototypes is part of an iterative, collaborative process which helps us clarify and refine the design. We will present you with multiple prototypes at various stages of the project. At this time we solicit users' input, and changes or enhancements are fed back into improving the design. |
| Stage 4: Beta-testing |
| We encourage our clients to beta-test a version of the software before they accept and sign off. The advantages are two-fold: |
| l |
You are exposed to the new system early on. Users can give us feedback so that we can fine-tune the software and ensure it meets their expectations. |
| l |
Users can ease into the new system and process, ensuring a smooth transition. |
| Stage 5: Handoff and Acceptance |
| This important milestone marks the acknowledgement that the application has been designed according to specifications and to the clients'
satisfaction. |
| Stage 6: Deployment |
| Following handoff and acceptance, we release the software development project into production and the application goes live. |
| Stage 7: Follow-up and Support |
| Balaram offers a warranty period as well as a multi-tiered, comprehensive support plan. |
